Rice field harvest -June 2020

On 29th June, 2020 the vulnerable women of Kinama Turi Wacu group came together to harvest the rice they had grown in the field Creative Solutions bought for them over ten years ago.

The harvest was good. 16 bags of non-husked rice each weighing 150kg

After paying all the expenses, they managed to have 693,960 Burundi Francs (£350 approx) to share amongst the 11 members. So each received £31.50 approx which they used for their basic needs - rents, health care etc.

They also received 10kg of husked rice each to feed their families.

Here are some of the women. They took care of everything themselves - buying the seeds, putting on the fertilizer, weeding etc. They were very happy to have such a good harvest.
